as a photographer, I am always
seeking what is most curious and
commonplace about the human experience.
it is the simplest of moments that
take on legendary meaning when
photographed.
to visually gather these supposedly
banal or shapeless instances
of existence creates something beautiful.
my approach is always with an effort to be
objective within a subjective situation.
the anthropological viewpoint shows the
viewer how bizarre, surreal, and
ephemeral our mundane lives
actually are.
i simply want to collect these pieces
of us, photographically.
almost as though to keep them
safe as one would a diary or souvenir.
